Prepare for darker, wetter journeys
- Keep leaves and debris away from the base of the windscreen and visible drainage areas.
- Clean lights, glass, mirrors, cameras and number plates frequently as roads become wetter and dirtier.
- Check wipers, tyre pressures and tread condition before periods of heavy rain.
- Remove damp items from the cabin and use suitable mats to help control moisture and odours.
Check pressures regularly when the tyres are cold and follow the manufacturer’s figures. Correct inflation supports safe handling and avoids unnecessary rolling resistance.
Accelerate progressively, anticipate traffic and avoid unnecessary harsh braking. A calmer driving style can reduce wasted fuel and wear.
